Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
OFFERINGS INDEX takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains exactly what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what choices are available to you as a visitor.
Our approach to privacy
We believe privacy is a right, not a feature. Our default position is to collect the minimum amount of information necessary to operate the site effectively, respond to your inquiries, understand how our content is being used, and support the advertising that funds the site. We do not sell personal information for money. Some US privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” more broadly and may treat certain advertising disclosures as sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; where that applies to you, see “Your rights and choices” below for how to reach us about it.
This policy applies to all information collected through OFFERINGS INDEX — including through the website itself, our contact form, and our newsletter subscription. It does not govern the practices of any third-party provider whose website you may reach via a link on our platform.
What information we collect
We collect only what is genuinely necessary to operate the site and respond to your needs. Here is a full breakdown:
Information you provide directly
- Contact form submissions: when you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, the topic category you selected, and the message content you wrote. This information is used solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. It is not used for marketing unless you separately consent to newsletter communications.
- Newsletter subscriptions: when you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is used only to send you updates about new offers, new content, and changes to the index. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly. We do not subscribe people to our newsletter without their explicit opt-in.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and analytics data: we may use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with the site — including which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, what devices and browsers they use, how they arrived at the site, and their approximate geographic region. Depending on your location and consent choices, analytics providers may process cookies or device identifiers. We use these insights to understand what content is useful and improve the platform.
- Cookies and similar technologies: we and our advertising and analytics providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, device identifiers, and similar technologies to operate the site, measure performance, serve and measure advertising, limit repeated ads, and—where permitted by law and your choices—personalize advertising. You can manage these technologies through the privacy controls described below and through your browser settings.
- Server logs: like most websites, our servers automatically record certain technical information each time a request is made to them. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, the referring URL, the pages you access, and the time and date of access. These logs are retained for a limited period for security monitoring and diagnostic purposes and are not used to profile individual visitors.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect only for the purposes described here:
- To respond to messages, questions, and inquiries you submit via the contact form.
- To send newsletter updates to subscribers who have explicitly opted in, and to manage those subscriptions (including processing unsubscribes promptly).
- To understand how people use the site in aggregate, so we can make improvements to the content, structure, and user experience.
- To monitor, maintain, and protect the security and reliability of the platform.
- To comply with legal obligations where applicable.
We do not sell or rent personal information for money. We may disclose limited information to service providers and advertising partners for the purposes described in this policy. Because some US laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly, this may be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising disclosure under those laws; see “Your rights and choices” below for how to opt out.
Third-party services we use
OFFERINGS INDEX uses a small, carefully selected set of third-party services to operate effectively. These may include email delivery services, web analytics tools, Google AdSense, and the advertising partners identified in our consent message. Depending on the service and processing involved, a provider may act on our behalf or as an independent controller under its own privacy terms.
We seek to disclose only the information reasonably necessary for these services and advertising functions. Independent providers, including Google and participating advertising partners, process information according to their own terms and privacy notices as well as the privacy signals communicated through our consent-management system.
Our pages also link to third-party provider websites. Once you click through to an external site, that provider's own privacy policy governs how your data is handled. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, how third-party providers collect, store, or use your information. We encourage you to read any provider's privacy policy before submitting personal information on their platform.
Advertising & Google AdSense
OFFERINGS INDEX may display advertising served by Google AdSense and other participating advertising partners as one of the ways we fund the operation of the site. Where advertising is shown, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, similar tracking technologies (such as web beacons or local storage), and device or advertising identifiers to serve ads, measure their performance, and limit how many times you see a given ad.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Depending on your location and the consent or privacy choices you make, ads shown to you may be:
- Personalized ads: based on your browsing activity and interests, informed by data collected by Google and its advertising partners across sites that use Google's advertising services.
- Non-personalized ads: shown without relying on your past browsing activity — these may still use contextual information (such as the content of the page or your general, non-precise location) to select an ad, but do not rely on an advertising profile built from your browsing history.
Google acts as an independent controller for the data it collects and processes through its advertising products. We do not control, and this policy does not describe, everything Google or its advertising partners do with that data — for full detail, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's Ads and data page.
Your advertising choices. You have several ways to manage or limit ad personalization:
- Visit Google Ads Settings to view and adjust how Google personalizes ads for you across the web.
- Visit www.aboutads.info/choices or, in the EU, www.youronlinechoices.eu, to opt out of personalized advertising from participating companies generally.
- Adjust your browser or device settings to block or delete third-party cookies and reset advertising identifiers.
- Contact us directly (see “Contact us” below) with any advertising or data-choice request, including an opt-out request under applicable US state law.
Opting out of personalized advertising does not mean you will see no ads or fewer ads — it means the ads you see will not be based on your browsing activity. Where ads are shown, this policy — together with Google's own policies linked above — describes how that advertising works.
Cookies & privacy choices
Google Consent Mode signals are configured before Google Tag Manager, Analytics, or AdSense loads. For visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising and analytics storage default to denied unless and until a visitor consent choice updates them; outside those regions, default signals are set to granted, subject to the opt-out and browser controls described in this policy.
A visible, on-site cookie-preference banner and a dedicated “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control are planned but not yet live on every page as of the “Last updated” date above. Until that control is live, EEA/UK/Swiss visitors will not see personalized-advertising or analytics activity because those signals default to denied for that region, and any visitor anywhere can use the browser- and Google-level controls listed under “Your advertising choices” or contact us directly to exercise a privacy or advertising choice. We will update this section once an on-site consent-management control is deployed.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law:
- Contact form inquiries are retained for as long as is necessary to respond to and resolve your query, and then deleted or anonymized.
- Newsletter subscriber records are maintained for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from our active list promptly. We may retain a suppression record (a note that you previously unsubscribed) to ensure we do not inadvertently contact you again.
- Analytics and advertising data is retained according to the settings and retention policies of Google and the applicable participating providers. Aggregated reporting may be retained for longer periods.
- Server logs are typically retained for a short period (days or weeks) for security purposes and then deleted or overwritten.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have concerns about how we store or protect your data, please contact us.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under applicable data protection law. These may include the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
- Request correction of any personal information we hold that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain it.
- Withdraw consent at any time where our processing is based on consent (for example, newsletter subscriptions).
- Object to certain types of processing where we rely on legitimate interests as a legal basis.
- Request that we restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Request that we transfer your data to another service provider in a portable format, where technically feasible.
- Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising where applicable US state law provides that right.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@offeringsindex.com. An on-site self-service privacy-choice control is planned but not yet live on every page (see “Cookies & privacy choices” above), so until then this email is the way to reach us for any of these requests. We will acknowledge your request promptly and respond in full within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law. We will not charge a fee for reasonable requests and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at, or designed for, children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal information from children. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through our site, please contact us at hello@offeringsindex.com and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the services we use, or applicable law. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users — for example, by adding a notice on the site or sending an email to newsletter subscribers. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we handle your information.
Contact us
If you have questions, concerns, or requests related to this privacy policy or the way we handle your personal information, please contact us at hello@offeringsindex.com. We aim to respond to all privacy-related inquiries promptly and transparently.
This page is provided as general information about our data and advertising practices and is not a substitute for legal advice. Deploying a Google-certified, IAB-registered Consent Management Platform is a planned pre-launch step, not yet live as of the “Last updated” date above; this policy will be updated when it goes live. No technical tool by itself guarantees compliance in every jurisdiction.
